Trip to Kuching, Sarawak (December 2012)

Day 1st, we were on AA plane from LCCT to Kuching Airport. After passengers counting session, we were advice to calm down and wait patiently cuz there is engine problem. After half an hour, we were informed to leave the plane and change to the other aircraft. As on the photo above (right), our luggages were relocated as well. Yeahaa, eventually we soared on the 100th Aircraft A320 as photo above (middle).

It was not satellite or GE image. It was some scenery taken from top. Wow, the cloud looks so fluffy! SUBHANALLAH!

When reached over there, we took a coupon taxi and asked the driver went to Liwah Hotel. For those who plan trip here, may also try Arif Hotel as it is affordable and just nearby the Kuching WaterFront. We checked in, had a lunch and rest for a while. Our first stopover was the Kuching WaterFront Bazaar @ Sarawak Steamship Building.

I found the item below, it is a kind of plants I guess and not sure wat is it and people selling it for wat purpose.

Some souvenirs I bought such as bag, kain pelekat Sarawak, tshirt, fridge magnets, various key chains and Tebaloi. Tebaloi is a popular traditional snack of Sarawak. It is also known as Sago Biscuits cuz Tebaloi’s main ingredients is Sago flour. The one I bought was distributed by FAMA of Sarawak and has 3 flavors which is Original, Pandan and Cocoa flavor.
Day 2nd, we went to the shopping mall such as Sarawak Plaza and Tun Jugah in the morning. In evening, we went to the opposed of Kuching WaterFront. There is a shophouse along the road and the souvenirs sold over there was cheaper and more variety than Kuching WaterFront Bazaar which I came yesterday. Some of the souvenirs we bought were kaftans, black pepper, senduk nibong, and etc.

Before returned to hotel, I had savored Nasi Lemak Pandan Sarawak. My nite life was @ Hills shopping mall.

Day 3rd, we went to the waterfront again but different area. We went to Kampung Boyan which has famous Kek Lapis (Layered Cake) and Ikan Terubok Masin (Salted Terubok Fish). We choose to ride on small boat which cost us only 50 cents per pax and the ride was for a few minutes within Sungai Sarawak to cross to the other side.

We opted to buy Kek Lapis @ Mira CakeHouse and Dayang Salhah. Then, we decided to buy Ikan Terubok Masin @ Ajun. The best part is the kek lapis and ikan terubok masin was packed nicely to facilitate customers to bring on plane. So no worries babe! Plus, they provided a postage services as well. On the way back, we had a lunch @ restaurant nearby and my fren suggested to taste a TomYam Soup and I recommended my fren to try Laksa Sarawak as she have not try yet. To return, we ride on Sampan instead of boat.

Our flight was delayed and we hang around the Kuching Airport. For those who plan to Kuching, may plan to visit Sarawak Cultural Village (living museum), Sarawak River Cruise, Satok Sunday Market, Cat Museum, Gunung Gading National Park (to witness blooming of Rafflesia). Yuhuu, the Rafflesia below was not from Gunung Gading, however this photo was taken @ Kuching Airport.
