Journey to Sabah (Tawau-Semporna-Sandakan) (Day 4th)

We woke up before dawn cuz dun want miss the bus and the journey took almost 5 hours from Semporna to Sandakan. We had breakfast at restaurant nearby the bus station while waiting the bus.

The blue masjid is one of the well-known masjid here and just nearby Semporna bus station.

The floating homes is juz behind the blue masjid and I was informed those living over there mostly from Bajau Laut ethnic.

We reached Sandakan more or less at noontime and a fwen fetched us at Sandakan bus station. After praying at Masjid Jannah-tuNaim, she drove around port, old and new Sandakan town.

It rain heavily hence we didn’t manage to go Sepilok orang-utan Rehab Centre. We juz hang around Sandakan War Memorial Park before went to airport. This memorial park is about a lesson and history of Sandakan Death March. The park is located next to the actual prisoners of war (POW) camp and on that time the Australian and British POW has been forced by the Japanese to march from Sandakan to Ranau resulted in the death of more than two thousand POW.
